Innovation and Entrepreneurship Minor

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) minor equips students with skills to recognize and seize market opportunities by providing insights into the creation and commercialization of new ideas. The I&E minor combines a fundamental business class curriculum–which emphasizes experiential learning, real-life business projects, and a flagship business competition—with discipline-specific classes to help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset and the skills necessary to build a successful career in any type of organization or setting.
Students can choose to take electives in Focus Areas that emphasize their interests and professional goals.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Apply an entrepreneurial mindset as well as entrepreneurship and innovation frameworks and techniques to improve individual and team creativity and ideation.
- Recognize and analyze new market opportunities.
- Evaluate the feasibility of pursuing an opportunity that you have recognized.
- Use design thinking methods to generate proposed solutions.
- Articulate proposed ideas and solutions through writing, sketching, making, and public presentations.
