Psychological Science Option
This option is available within the Data Science major at the following location:
- Corvallis
Psychological Science examines how people think, feel, and behave through empirical methods and theoretical models. In this option, students build on foundational psychology courses to explore how cognitive processes, decision-making, and behavior intersect with data-driven research, enhancing their understanding of human factors in data science.
This option is designed for Data Science majors who wish to apply psychological principles to user experience research, organizational analytics, human-computer interaction, or advanced studies in psychology. Graduates pursue careers in fields such as technology, business, healthcare, and education, where understanding human behavior is crucial to interpreting and applying data insights. Professional organizations like the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS) provide additional resources for ongoing growth in the discipline.
