Visual Studies BFA Option
This option is available within the Arts, Media, and Technology major at the following location:
- OSU-Cascades
This program provides students with the required skills needed for the contemporary visual arts. Specifically, the degree provides students with skills to analyze and interpret works across the arts while contextualizing historical trends. Students are expected to develop portfolios and exhibition worthy work as well as a written thesis that demonstrate the application of creative production and applied research.

Options follow the learning outcomes of the major. For this option, refer to the learning outcomes of the Arts, Media, and Technology major.
This option is for students in the BFA degree only. BFA students must pass a portfolio review before they will be accepted into the option. If a passing grade is not achieved, students may move to the BA/BS degree with the Media Arts option. For more information on the portfolio requirement, refer to the Portfolio Review website or consult your advisor.
