Marine Resource Management Graduate Major (MS)

Marine Resource Management (MRM) is an interdisciplinary master’s program based in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS). The MRM program prepares future ocean and coastal leaders for a range of career paths in science, policy, and practice through:
- Innovative, societally relevant research
- Interdisciplinary coursework (oceanography; environment and society; and law, management, and policy)
- Professional development
- Real-world applications
Graduates from the program work as resource managers, policy advisors, researchers, educators, community liaisons, industry leaders, communication professionals, and more.
MRM students are advised by faculty from within CEOAS, other colleges and departments across OSU, and scientists from state or federal agencies. Students conduct innovative, original research, often in collaboration with external partners, within a range of thematic areas, including:
- Resilient communities and coasts
- Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture
- Healthy ecosystems and people
- Emerging solutions and technologies
- Climate-ready planning, conservation, and restoration
- Public engagement and education
