Asian Studies Minor
This program is available at the following locations:
- Corvallis
- Ecampus
The minor program provides an opportunity for students majoring in fields such as business, engineering, or sciences who will be working in Asia or with Asians. They will gain a significant degree of cultural literacy that will be critical for their professional success. In addition, the program will be an outstanding supplement to a traditional liberal arts major for students with particular interests in Asia, who want to study abroad, or who plan to go on to do graduate work in areas with concentrations in aspects of Asia.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Identify and describe the major cultural, social, and historical developments across various regions of Asia, and articulate their significance and evolution.
- Critically analyze and interpret key ideas, traditions, and practices in Asia, assessing their influence on both regional and global contexts.
- Apply knowledge of Asian societies and cross-cultural communication skills to interpret and evaluate global issues, showing sensitivity to different cultural perspectives and values.
- Integrate knowledge and approaches from various disciplines to analyze and evaluate complex issues related to Asia.
