Nutrition Graduate Minor

The nutrition graduate minor is designed for graduate students in other majors who are interested in obtaining training and gaining knowledge in the field of nutrition. Nutrition is multidisciplinary and the minor course requirements are individualized to each student’s academic interests. The minor professor and student will together agree on appropriate coursework for the minor. Students are strongly encouraged to identify a Nutrition faculty member as their minor professor prior to taking more than 6 credits towards the Nutrition graduate minor.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
Masters
- Conduct research or produce some other form of creative work.
- Demonstrate mastery of subject material.

- Communicate nutrition information orally and in written form.
- Develop problem-solving skills related to nutrition.
PhD
- Produce and defend an original significant contribution to knowledge.
- Demonstrate mastery of subject material.
- Conduct scholarly activities in an ethical manner.
Graduate minors require a minimum of 15 credits for master's students and 18 credits for doctoral students.
Students will design the curriculum with a faculty advisor from the Nutrition graduate program.
