The 18-credit Graduate Certificate in Health Management and Policy is designed to provide advanced learning opportunities to students interested in careers that involve healthcare and health system management. Courses offered address strategic management skills, healthcare policy issues, communication, and financial issues important in managing healthcare organizations and their performance.
The certificate prepares students who already have an undergraduate degree or another graduate degree, seeking to build their knowledge and skills in management of healthcare organizations and the regulations and policies they must be aware of to be an effective manager.
The Graduate Certificate in Health Management and Policy may be completed in 1-3 years, depending on start term and elective courses chosen.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Conceptualize, analyze and resolve problems related to health services delivery and finance.
- Identify and apply economic, financial, legal, organizational, political and ethical theories and frameworks.
- Employ appropriate qualitative and quantitative techniques to manage workforce, fiscal, technological, data, physical, and other resources.
- Establish and manage systems and processes to assess organizational performance for continuous improvement of quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Act ethically and professionally, and be responsive to community variations in cultures and socio-demographics.
- Effectively communicate, solve problems and make decisions related to health policy and management in the public and private sectors.
