Composition, conducting, music education, performance
Through the School of Visual, Performing & Design Arts, graduate students may participate in the following programs: Professional Music Teacher Education, the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS), and the Master of Education (EdM) with a focus in music education. The school offers graduate courses in music, music education, and music performance. OSU’s music education program is approved by the state of Oregon Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). With careful planning, students may complete both the initial and continuing teaching licensure requirements, as well as a master’s degree.
