Music Production Option
This option is available within the Music major at the following location:
- Corvallis
At Oregon State University the music technology and production program focuses on providing students with the multidisciplinary skill set necessary to navigate today's music industry. Courses are rooted in performance, creation, technical operation and interdisciplinary collaboration involving music technology. Students get hands-on experience with the latest industry standard equipment, collaborate with peers and faculty to create new and innovative music projects, and craft a diverse portfolio with faculty and industry mentors in order to prepare for a career in the music industry.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Demonstrate skills in music theory, aural skills, and keyboard skills at a level of competency sufficient for success in their chosen emphasis.
- Develop pedagogical practices preparing them to demonstrate strategies for effective teaching and facilitating student learning, either as a classroom teacher, a studio instructor or a community arts leader.
- Demonstrate performance skills and an understanding of appropriate performance practices for varied styles, and an application of those competencies in live performance.
- Musically create through composition or music technology.
- Describe the values of music and music education in society and use an understanding of society and technology to engage communities in music making and the support for the arts.
