A graduate minor in sociology is an excellent complement for graduate students intending careers in most social and natural science fields, including, the non-profit sector or public policy. The sociology minor equips graduate students with skills in understanding and engaging with complex real-world issues.

Prior to declaring a minor in Sociology, explicit support must be granted from a Sociology Faculty Mentor who will provide guidance to the graduate student. It is expected that the student and the Sociology Faculty Mentor will work together to identify appropriate courses to support the student's major areas of interest, and will file the proposed coursework agreement with the Sociology program.
