Public Policy Minor

The Public Policy Minor offers students the opportunity to complement their primary major with a focus on public policy. Since policymaking affects all disciplines, understanding how your field intersects with public policies and governance can enrich your academic experience and improve your graduate school applications and job prospects. This minor equips students with the knowledge and skills to analyze, design, and implement policies, making it a valuable addition to any program of study.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Analyze and explain the major constraints that influence policymaking by identifying the political, economic, and social factors affecting resource management, regional disparities, and responses to economic shifts.
- Design and develop interdisciplinary policy proposals that incorporate stakeholder perspectives to address the diverse needs of communities, with a focus on inclusive and sustainable development.
- Evaluate and critique existing policies using evidence-based analysis, recommending improvements to ensure policies remain relevant and effective in addressing evolving social and economic challenges.
