Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Articulate key concepts and events in American cultural history and their global impact.
- Demonstrate ability to write clear analytical prose.
- Demonstrate capacity to compare ideas and material objects from different disciplinary perspectives.
- Develop research skills, including handling of primary and secondary sources, library use, and online scholarly search tools.
- Demonstrate ability to identify specific cultural tensions arising around freedoms protected by the first, second, and fourteenth amendments to the constitution.
