Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate Option
This option is available within the Counseling major at the following locations:
- Ecampus (hybrid)
- OSU-Cascades
The Master of Counseling (MCoun) degree offers a Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) option for individuals who want to work in community-based agencies, residential/outpatient treatment programs, community colleges, and counseling practices.
Graduates of the clinical mental health counseling option are eligible to apply for licensure in Oregon and may meet the educational and clinical experience requirements for licensure in their state of residence. To access the licensing organization of your intended state(s) of practice, refer to the Licensure webpage. Additional requirements for state licensure include supervised post-graduate counseling experience and passage of a national clinical mental health counseling examination (i.e., NCE/NCMHCE).
