Wood Science Graduate Minor

The Department of Wood Science and Engineering offers a graduate minor in Wood Science with courses selected from the following areas: forest-based bioproducts, advanced wood manufacturing, novel composite products, timber mechanics & structural engineering, resource extension & optimization, art, architecture & design, competitive forest sector, and wood identification & characterization.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
MS
- Conduct research or produce some other form of creative work.
- Demonstrate mastery of subject material.
- Conduct scholarly or professional activities in an ethical manner.
PhD
- Produce and defend an original significant contribution to knowledge.
- Demonstrate mastery of subject material.
- Conduct scholarly activities in an ethical manner.
If a Wood Science minor is desired, you should first select a minor professor within the Wood Science & Engineering department, and work with them to identify an appropriate set of Wood Science courses to meet or exceed 15 credits for Masters students and 18 credits for Doctoral students.
