New & First Year Students
- Office of Student Orientation: Helps lead and facilitates the transition process for new students and their family members, promoting and enhancing successful transitions through collaborative programs and outreach.
- University Exploratory Studies Program: UESP is the academic home for students who are exploring their options before deciding on a major and offers a comprehensive range of services to help students make informed decisions about their academic coursework and potential majors while they are exploring.
Diversity & Inclusion
- College Assistance Migrant Program: CAMP provides financial and academic support to first-year students with the goal of preparing them for success in college. CAMP works with faculty, student services and community-based agencies to improve educational opportunities.
- Diversity and Cultural Engagement: DCE is committed to the development of underserved students by creating and advocating for inclusive and educationally purposeful initiatives that enhance learning, academic success, cross-cultural fluency and self-efficacy.
- Educational Opportunities Program: EOP provides a welcoming environment that supports the full development of the personal and academic potential of students who have traditionally been denied equal access to higher education. Services that students can access include locating financial resources, an on-campus bridge program to meet other students and learn important transition skills, regular meetings with trained and experienced academic counselors from backgrounds similar to their own, and small sections of required courses in math, chemistry, writing and psychology. Included in EOP are the Beaver Connect faculty-student mentor program and the Dr. Lawrence Griggs Office of Black and Indigenous Student Success.
- Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation: LSAMP is dedicated to increasing the number of traditionally underrepresented students successfully completing science, technology, engineering and mathematics baccalaureate degree programs.
- Office of International Services: Supports international students from admissions through graduation with advising services and guidance on settling in at Oregon State. Staff are available to help you with questions and locate other services on campus, as needed.
- TRIO Student Support Services: TRIO SSS helps first-generation college students and other students who would benefit from additional support make the transition to college, offering academic guidance, professional development, peer mentorship, technology access, student success seminars and additional services.
Athletes & Veterans
- Academics for Student Athletes: Provides academic and personal support to all student athletes at Oregon State University.
- Military & Veteran Resources: Supports military service members, veterans and their families studying at OSU. The office helps navigate the requirements of higher education to ensure awareness of available benefits and services, and foster a successful learning experience.
Health & Wellbeing
- Basic Needs Center: BNC provides OSU students with community and basic needs support, including food insecurity, housing and textbook lending services.
- Counseling & Psychological Services: CAPS provides individual, couples and group counseling for OSU students; access to online resources and support; as well as outreach and education on topics like mindfulness, stress management and suicide prevention.
- Disability Access Services: Facilitates access to university programs and services for individuals with disabilities through accommodations, education, consultation and advocacy.
- Family Resource Center: Provides a welcoming place for families to spend time on campus with their children. The center advocates for and supports students with families by focusing on quality early education and children’s care centers, lactation support and financial assistance.
- Student Care: Designed help students manage unexpected life events, personal crises, mental health struggles, academic difficulties and challenges that can interfere with college success.
- Student Health Services: SHS provides holistic care focused on the social, mental and physical well-being of OSU students. SHS offers a broad range of services including primary and same-day care, allergy and asthma clinics, mental health services, sexual and reproductive health care, gender-affirming care and more. In addition to clinical care, they offer a range of services to support student well-being, including nutrition services, gender-based violence prevention workshops, assistance for students in recovery and survivor advocacy and care.
Student Life
- Associated Students of Oregon State University: ASOSU is the student government body at Oregon State. It supports the varied interests of OSU students through democratic representation.
- Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life: Advocates for the interests of the Greek community at OSU by providing advice to governing chapters. The center serves as the direct university contact for organization headquarters staff.
- Memorial Union: The community center of OSU and serves students, alumni, staff and guests. The MU complements students’ academic experience through cultural, educational, social and recreational programs.
- Office of the Dean of Students: Fosters environments that enable students to effectively engage in their academic work, develop cultural competencies and global awareness, and become informed citizens. Office staff are available to help students navigate university resources.
- University Housing & Dining Services: Offers on-campus residents a connection from the moment they arrive to campus. UHDS facilities include a variety of living options, three dining centers and an on-campus grocery store that provide students with connections to residential staff, academic support services, healthy dining options and leadership opportunities right where they live.
Rights & Responsibilities
- Cross Campus Strategic Initiatives: Oversees the development, implementation and assessment of campus-wide initiatives in support of the transition, integration and advisement of matriculated students. CCSI provides training, resources, transitional coursework, advocacy, expertise and community-building opportunities for professional faculty, instructional faculty and students.
- Student Conduct & Community Standards: Handles student-conduct and related matters at OSU.
- University Ombuds Office: Promotes a civil and inclusive campus community by providing informal, impartial, and confidential conflict management services to all members of the university community.
Learning Resources
- Academic Success Center: Creates opportunities for students to learn how to learn throughout their academic careers. Services include drop-in consultations, academic coaching, the Learning Corner online resource, workshops, and supplemental instruction.
- Graduate Writing Center: GWC provides support for graduate students, staff, and faculty working on theses and dissertations, seminar papers, manuscripts, poster presentations, IRB applications, funding and research proposals, as well as conference and defense presentations. In addition to facilitating writing groups, we provide both written and one-on-one remote sessions with highly-trained Graduate Writing Consultants.
- Mathematics and Statistics Learning Center: MSLC provides free drop-in tutoring, resources, make-up testing, a mathematics education resource room and a computer classroom with mathematical software installed.
- University Information and Technology: Supports OSU students by providing accounts, technologies, equipment checkout, printing, computing networks and computing labs. The Service Desk provides students with technical support for laptops, mobile devices, and campus systems like Canvas.
- Writing Center: Supports students in their development as college writers and researchers. Students can meet with a writing consultant one-on-one in person or via Zoom, or receive written feedback via email. Writing consultants help writers with any writing-related task such as brainstorming and outlining a writing project, finding and integrating sources into writing, revising drafts, and using editing and proofreading strategies.
Career & Experiential Learning
- Community Engagement & Leadership: In partnership with community-based organizations, CEL provides direct service, advocacy, philanthropy and other community engagement opportunities in partnership with community-based organizations that allow students to work toward a more just, sustainable world.
- Craft Center: Supports an enriched experiential learning experience where students can foster their own creativity. The center offers ceramic, glass, jewelry, woodworking and photography classes, in addition to fluctuating craft events and activities.
- Experiential Learning and Activities: ELA houses various opportunities for student involvement and leadership, including Clubs & Organizations, the Global Community Kitchen, OSU Program Council & Late Night Programs and Orange Media Network. OMN provides hands-on media and leadership experiences through its publications, including Beaver's Digest, DAMchic, KBVR-FM, KBVR-TV, Prism and the Daily Barometer.
- Career Development Center: Provides comprehensive professional development to all OSU students through presentations, workshops and appointments. The center also hosts the career fairs and maintains Handshake, a networked platform that connects students with employers and thousands of job and internship opportunities.
- Recreational Sports: Provides an extensive and diverse list of sport, fitness and adventure opportunities to serve the varied recreation preferences and interests of the campus community.
