Description and Requirements

Provide a brief description of the microcredential and its career and /or professional objectives. Who is the target audience? How does this series of courses constitute a body of work that serves as a microcredential?

This program builds on the Sports Business microcredential and is ideal for those who want a short, focused program that provides an understanding of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship. This can be beneficial for those who are in communication/marketing or management fields who want to gain exposure to, or be trained for a job in, the sports industry; and for athletes that would like to remain in this industry following their professional career.

The SB courses are part of the Sports Business degree program proposal. As demand warrants we can offer those courses more than once a year.

Alternative Summative Assessment

Alternative Summative Assessments (ASA) are a substitution for the committee-driven oral exam present in most MA/MS degrees. The ASA should provide similar insights as the oral exam into the program and graduate learning outcomes.
