Seeking Solutions

The central goal of Seeking Solutions is to have students wrestle with complex, multifaceted problems, and work to solve them and/or evaluate potential solutions from multiple points of view. The category is designed to deepen how students think about problem-solving in ways that transcend disciplinary-specific approaches.

  • The course should be taken in a student's junior or senior year at OSU.

Seeking Solutions is the only Core Education category that cannot double count with major requirements. Seeking Solutions courses listed in major requirements, including courses taken for an option or as part of a pick-list (eg. "select one course from"), cannot double-count with Core Education requirements. Students should work with their advisor to identify an appropriate Seeking Solutions course.
