Cultural Anthropology Option
This option is available within the Anthropology major at the following locations:
- Corvallis
- Ecampus
The Cultural Anthropology option focuses on the diversity of living cultures, in terms of their subsistence practices, sacred and secular rituals, economies, technology, arts, language, and social institutions. This concentration prepares the student to engage in ethnographic research and to follow ethical and professional standards for cultural sensitivity in interpersonal and cross-cultural interactions.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Analyze the diversity of human beliefs, behaviors and social institutions over time and in cross-cultural perspective.
- Use ethnographic research methods to collect, analyze and communicate about data within the context or relevant theory.
- Apply ethical and professional standards in cultural anthropology.
