Community Nutrition Minor
This program is available at the following location:
- Corvallis
This minor provides undergraduate students with a background in nutrition in community settings and practical applications and focuses on the scope of practice of Public Health Nutrition and K-12 education and other similar settings. It is ideal for students interested in learning more about community nutrition and practice, including Public Health, Kinesiology, Education, and Human Development and Family Sciences.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Explain food sources of nutrients important across lifespan and cultures and based on the nutritional needs of communities.
- Associate nutritional intake, food behaviors and physical activity with the risk of disease and health conditions by life stage.
- Review consumer-level and evidence-based food and nutrition resources and interventions at the household, local, and international levels.
- Assess community and population-level nutrition and food programs, policies, systems, and environments through a health equity lens.
- Apply principles of cultural humility through consideration of global food patterns.
Some of the courses in the minor have additional prerequisites or grade requirements that are separate from the minor.
