Applied Behavioral Health Graduate Option
This option is available within the Human Development and Family Studies major at the following location:
- Corvallis
Students pursuing the Applied Mental Health option in the MS degree are expected to acquire professional, technical skills necessary to provide services as a qualified mental health professional (QMHP) after graduation. In addition to coursework, students will engage in an extensive clinical human services internship as a component of their training. Completing an internship satisfies the practical application expectation in clinical behavioral health training programs. Students will collect a portfolio of materials from their internship which they will assemble , present and defend as a capstone of the student’s master’s program.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will meet the following learning outcomes:
- Conduct research or produce some other form of creative work.
- Demonstrate mastery of subject material.
- Conduct scholarly or professional activities in an ethical manner.
- Create a complete mental health assessment.
- Develop a Client-centered service plan.
- Practice several evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Assess needs for coordination of care in clinical internship.
- Apply crisis and trauma-based intervention in a clinical setting.
