PS 574. NATURAL RESOURCE POLICY AND BUREAUCRATIC POLITICS (4).
Investigates relations between natural resource policies, such as the Endangered Species Act or the National Forest Management Act and agencies responsible for administering them, such as the National Marine Fisheries Service or U.S. Forest Service. Organizational culture and conflicts, external support and opposition, relations with interested groups and elected officials, state and local agencies, the press, and public pressures are discussed.
PREREQS:
PS 201 or 6 credits of upper-division natural resource or related course work or instructor approval required.
