FW 547. TROPHIC CASCADES (2-3).

Theory and empirical analysis of terrestrial carnivore effects on plants and ecosystems as mediated through herbivores. Emphasis on large carnivores, frequency/strength of trophic cascades, implications for ecosystem function, management, and restoration. Lectures, current literature, discussions, field exercise, term paper, and student presentations. Offered every odd year in spring. CROSSLISTED as FOR 547. PREREQS: Graduate or post-bac standing and an ecology course.
