Course BOT 576. INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTING IN THE LIFE SCIENCES (3).

Introduction to management of large datasets (e.g., nucleic acids, protein), computer programming languages, application of basic mathematical functions, and assembly of computational pipelines pertinent to life sciences. CROSSLISTED as MCB 576. PREREQS: Cell and molecular biology or genetics, or by approval of instructor. Familiarity with text editing software and unix/linux operating system is advantageous.
