Course SSCI 301. QUALITATIVE RESEARCH METHODS FOR THE SOCIAL SCIENCES (4). Is WIC Core Course

Introduces a variety of qualitative research methods including ethnography, interviewing, recording oral histories, and conducting focus groups. Students will develop their own research questions, collect data to answer that research question, code and analyze data, and write and disseminate results. The course will culminate in a final paper and in-class presentation of original research results. (Writing Intensive Course) PREREQS: Six credits of upper-division courses in the social sciences, including sociology, political science, anthropology, or communication.
