Emerging and reemerging infectious disease is a contemporary global issue of great concern. To understand and evaluate the issue, the course covers germ theory, disease history and ecology, microbial pathogenesis and the immune response, historic plagues, and the biological, environmental, population and social changes that contribute to disease emergence. (Writing Intensive Course) CROSSLISTED as MB 385 PREREQS: ( (BI 211 or BI 211H) and (BI 212 or BI 212H) and (BI 213 or BI 213H) )
